A man is due in court charged in connection with a violent attack on a great-grandfather in Dublin last August.
Paddy Hansard was on his way home from a night out when he was attacked at the Courtney Place flat complex in Ballybough.
The 73-year-old suffered serious head and neck injuries.
Detectives from Mountjoy Garda Station arrested a 52-year-old man and charged him with serious assault causing harm to Mr Hansard.
He is due before the Dublin District Court this morning.
