Three of Patricia O'Connor's sisters have said they were disgusted and horrified at the way she had been portrayed in the trial.
They did not want to speak on camera outside court but in a statement, issued on behalf of her ten siblings, they said justice had been served for their "beautiful sister".
They said she was "a most kind, caring and loving grandmother, sister and mother".
They described her as a "hardworking woman" who loved to share her care and kindness with all.
The sisters and brothers said it had been a very tough seven weeks sitting in the courtroom looking at the people who took their sister for their own selfish reasons.
They apologised to the family who found the first part of Patricia's body in the Wicklow Mountains.
They said they were sorry that family had to endure part of their pain and they thanked them for co-operating and helping gardaí in every way they could.
They also thanked the gardaí, Army, Civil Defence, the legal teams and witnesses.
The sisters described Patricia as a mother-figure to them.
They said "so many lies" had been told about her in the courtroom and they were delighted with the verdict and glad they got justice.
They said they had sat through the court and hid their emotion until all the verdicts were in.
The sisters said Patricia had wanted to move back to Kilkenny, where she was originally from, but others in the family would not sell the house in Rathfarnham.
They said they believed the motive for the murder was a dispute over the future of the house, which is currently empty.
