A 38-year-old woman has appeared at the Criminal Courts of Justice charged with the murder of Gareth Kelly in the Browns Barn estate in Kingswood, Co Dublin, yesterday.

The 39-year-old was stabbed as he tried to start his car at 7am in the estate.

At the Criminal Courts of Justice, Detective Sergeant Dara Kenny gave evidence of charging Christina Anderson, of Browns Barn estate, with murder.

He said she made no reply when charged at Clondalkin Garda Station this afternoon.

Judge Colin Daly remanded her in custody to appear at the Criminal Courts of Justice on 4 March.

He directed that she undergo a medical and psychiatric examination on admission to prison and that she receive a separate psychiatric examination for the purpose of the court.
