Three passengers were on board the hotel shuttle bus - a Colombian woman travelling to Germany and two children, returning from a scouting trip in the US - when the incident unfolded at around 1am yesterday morning.

Their flight had been delayed and they were being brought to an airport hotel when the incident unfolded.

They were unharmed in the incident.

The minibus was taken from Dublin Airport and driven north on the M1 where it rammed a garda car north of Dundalk.

It then crossed over the border into the north where it rammed a PSNI vehicle in Crossmaglen.

The minibus then crossed back into Monaghan where it crashed and the occupants fled on foot.

They stole a car and were pursued by gardaí for 30 minutes on the N2.

The car later rammed a garda armed support unit vehicle and two men were arrested.
