A man has appeared in court charged in relation to an alleged incident at a graveyard in Co Louth on Sunday.

James McDonagh, 28, with an address at Glenmore Park, Muirhevnamore, Dundalk, faces a charge of the unlawful use of a car and one of dangerous driving.

Both offences are alleged to have taken place at St Patrick's Cemetery, Dowdallshill, in Dundalk on 21 July.

Garda Sean O'Callaghan gave evidence of arrest and charges at Drogheda District Court and gardaí objected to bail citing a number of reasons.

Judge Dermot Dempsey remanded Mr McDonagh in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court next Tuesday.
