An order banning the publication of any reporting of the Ana Kriégel trial until its conclusion has been varied.

It follows a sitting of the Central Criminal Court this evening.

An earlier order by Mr Justice Paul McDermott restricting publication of evidence given in the trial until its conclusion is now restricted to one media outlet.

RTÉ and other media outlets will continue to report on the case as a result of the variation.

Earlier, Mr Justice McDermott told the jurors that it was a matter of law and the order stood until any further order.

The judge had reminded the jurors that media coverage of the case was not relevant to their deliberations and that they should decide their verdict exclusively on the evidence given in court.

He said it was his duty to maintain the integrity of the trial process to ensure a true verdict in accordance with the evidence.

The two boys deny murdering the schoolgirl at a derelict farmhouse near St Catherine's Park in Lucan in Dublin on 14 May 2018.

One of the boys also denies violently sexually assaulting her.
