An Irish man is due to face extradition proceedings at a New York court today.

The man, who worked at a GAA grounds in the midlands, is wanted in Ireland in connection with an investigation into sexual offences alleged to have been committed between 2004 and 2009. 

The man, who left Ireland in 2013, was arrested in the US last week by the Department of Homeland Security, with assistance from Guilderland police.

He is due to appear in court in Albany, New York, for an extradition hearing.
