A 42-year-old woman has been remanded on a charge of causing serious harm to a three-year-old girl at a house in Dublin last Saturday.

Emer Cannon, of Aubrey Grove, Shankill in Dublin, was remanded in her absence at a sitting of Bray District Court this morning.

The brief hearing followed the death of the child, Zoe Whitford, in hospital on Tuesday.
