Protest in Dublin over mask measures in schools

Hundreds of people took part in a demonstration in Dublin opposing the introduction of mandatory mask wearing for children from third class and up in primary schools.

Demonstrators gathered on Merrion Square.

Protesters also held placards with slogans criticising mask wearing more generally and vaccination.

Parts of the Square and Merrion Row were closed to traffic as a result.

One person was arrested for Public Order Offences.
