Sligo University Hospital is appealing to the public to comply with current visiting restrictions that are in place at the hospital due to "a number" of Covid-19 outbreaks.
The northwest hospital is dealing with Covid-19 outbreaks impacting four wards.
Infection control procedures are in place on the wards and will remain until further notice.
In a statement, the HSE said visitors to affected wards will be facilitated on "compassionate or end of life grounds".
It added that children "should not be brought to the hospital unless they are patients".
It advised those seeking to visit the facility to "please contact the relevant ward manager in advance".
Visitors to SUH are requested to cooperate with hospital staff and advised that they must use the alcohol hand gels supplied as they enter and leave the hospital.
Anyone with symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting or symptoms like a sore throat, cough, temperature or shortness of breath are asked not to visit the hospital to help keep vulnerable patients safe.
It said visitors with such symptoms should not visit until they are fully resolved for at least 48 hours.
Those visiting have been asked not to use patient toilets on the wards or en-suites, and to wash their hands with soap.
The HSE said these measures "are vital to avoid spreading the virus to patients, visitors and staff".
