A man in his 20s is being treated for serious injuries after an alleged assault in Co Mayo in the early hours of yesterday morning.
At around 2.50am, gardaí received reports of an unconscious man outside a licensed premises on Tucker Street, Castlebar.
The man was taken to Mayo University Hospital and the scene was preserved for an examination.
Gardaí said that investigations are ongoing and have appealed to witnesses to come forward.
Any road users or persons with camera footage (including dash-cam) in the Tucker Street area between 2.30am and 3.15am have been asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
