For the first time, emergency and voluntary service members from across Co Mayo and beyond have climbed Croagh Patrick in full uniform.
The event was organised in tribute to Martin Gilligan, also known as 'Gilly', who dedicated over 35 years of service to the fire brigade based in Claremorris, Co Mayo.
Nineteen teams from various emergency services went on the climb to raise funds for Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation.
It provides palliative care services to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families, in counties Mayo and Roscommon.
Around 100 representatives across organisations including the fire service, gardaí, Coast Guard, Air Corps, Croagh Patrick Ambassadors, as well as paramedics, consultants and nurses from the emergency department in Castlebar took part.

The climb began at 1pm and was due to culminate with a group photograph at the summit of the Reek overlooking Westport town.
All emergency vehicles such as RNLI boats, helicopters, fire brigade, public order unit and garda cars parked at the base.
Members of the public were encouraged to show their support by cheering on participants and viewing the vehicles.
