Under beautiful sunshine, rowers participated in 'Tóstal', an annual boating event in Salthill, Co Galway.

Competitors raced in a mile-and-a-half course laid out in Galway Bay.

Competitors from Conamara, Galway, Clare, Mayo, Skerris in Dublin and Kerry took part.

The event was also part of the All-Ireland league of currachaí, as individual winners accrue points in a league system.

Thirteen teams took part in the men's competition; four in the women's, nine in the mixed, and four in the children's.

There was also a sailing exhibition organised by the Galway Hooker and Sailing Club.
