A man in his 80s has died following a road incident on an island off Co Mayo.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at Glen on Clare Island yesterday afternoon.
The man died after his car entered the water at around 1pm.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was later removed to Mayo University Hospital where a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
A technical examination of the scene has been carried out by a Garda Forensic Collision Investigator.
