A man in his 40s has been arrested after two firearms and ammunition were seized at a residence in Ballinasloe, Co Galway.
The search at Woodlawn was part of an ongoing operation targeting criminal activity in the Galway area.
Gardaí found two firearms, ammunition and a cocaine press.
The firearms have been forwarded for a technical examination by the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau.
The man is being held at a garda station in the northwestern region.
Investigations are ongoing.
