A woman in her 60s has died after being struck by a lorry while she was walking in Co Mayo.
The incident happened on Rathbawn Road in Castlebar at around 9.55am this morning.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry has been taken to hospital for treatment.
The road was closed for a technical examination by gardaí and has now reopened.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident, including anyone who may have camera footage, to come forward.
