A man in his 50s has died following a single-car crash in Co Mayo.
The man was the only person in the car when the crash happened on the R323 Knock Road at Bracklaghboy in Ballyhaunis at around 10.10pm last night.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.
The road is currently closed for technical examination, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area between 9.30pm to 10.30pm are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
