There were celebrations in Béal an Mhuirthead, Co Mayo, as the National Lottery announced the name of the shop that sold Saturday's winning Lotto jackpot of just over €5.4 million.
Carey’s Shop in the middle of the Gaeltacht town sold the ticket but the winner has yet to come forward.
This is the seventh lotto win for the shop which sold a winning ticket for over €13 million in 2016.
Carey's has sold six winning tickets for top tier Lotto prizes since 1991 and its owner, Lorraine O'Connor Carey said she was not shocked by the latest call from Nation Lottery.
"Our shop has been a cornerstone in Belmullet for over 40 years, and it's safe to say, we’ve had our fair share of National Lottery wins and are well-known for our successes," she said
"We were due a big win, so I wasn’t entirely shocked when I got the call."
The new Mayo winner has become the 11th Lotto jackpot winner of 2024.
Earlier this month, a Mayo player claimed the top prize of the EuroMillions Plus of €500,000.
Ms O'Connor Carey congratulated their latest prize winning customer.
"We have many regular local customers, so it's exciting to think that one of them might have had a life-changing win," she said.
"We hope they're already enjoying their amazing news, and what an incredible way to kickstart the new year."
The winning numbers in Saturday's main Lotto draw were: 2, 4, 5, 10, 16, 17 and the bonus was 23.
