Gardaí have launched an investigation after a body was found in Co Sligo earlier today.
The body was discovered in the area of the Hughes Bridge in Sligo Town at around 12.40pm.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí say they are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery and that the results of a post-mortem examination will determine the course of the investigation.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
