An investigation is under way after an Irish woman died in a road crash in London.
Police have said that the crash, involving a pedestrian – 56-year-old Catherine Finnegan – and a bus, happened at Victoria Bus Station at around 9am yesterday.
Ms Finnegan, who was originally from Co Galway, died at the scene.
The driver of the bus, a woman aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital following the crash and was later discharged.
In a statement, Ms Finnegan's family paid tribute to her.
"Our beloved daughter, sister, partner, most adored auntie and treasured friend Catherine Finnegan, known as Kathleen, lost her life on 29 January 2024.
"She will be remembered as a very unique lady who had the fast Irish wit and who made her family and friends so very proud of her bright, clever personality.
"She was a whirlwind in any room and lit up this world with her energy, enthusiasm for life and joy.
"She will be forever in our hearts."
