An investigation is under way after a 14-year-old boy was injured in an alleged assault in Sligo town yesterday evening.
The incident occurred at around 7.10pm at the Applegreen service station on Mail Coach Road.
The teenager was taken to Sligo University Hospital with serious injuries and was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

The scene on Mail Coach Road remains preserved this morning for a technical examination.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
They have also asked that anyone with video footage of the incident or road users who were on Mail Coach Road between 6.45pm and 7.15pm and who may have camera footage to contact Sligo Garda Station on 071 915 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
