Three men have appeared in court charged in connection with the alleged production of weapons during public order incidents in Galway city earlier this month.
Andrew Sweeney, 39, 20-year-old Johnny McDonagh and Eddie Ward, 47, were brought before Galway District Court.
All are accused of offences contrary to the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act, arising from alleged incidents on the evening of 10 September.
Eddie Ward, with an address at St Finbarr's Terrace, Bohermore, Galway, is charged with the production of a black baton while appearing to be about to commit assault in the course of a fight, at the alleyway at Galway Shopping Centre, and Bohermore.
Andrew Sweeney, of Radharc na Gréine, Monivea Road, Galway, is accused of producing a slash hook while appearing to be about to commit assault at the car park of the shopping centre.
Johnny McDonagh, with an address at Glenbaun, Ballybane, Galway, is charged with the production of a wheel brace while committing an offence - violent disorder - at Circle K, College Road, Galway.
Detective Sergeant Paul McNulty told the court bail had been agreed for the three men.
The court was told directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in relation to the accused are not yet known.
Judge James Faughnan remanded all three on bail to appear again at Galway District Court next month.
