The former MBNA building has gained iconic status in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, where it once employed 1,200 people.
In recent years only a quarter of the huge building has been occupied by 200 employees of Avant Money, but two new companies have now moved in.
This morning the doors of the building opened in a drive to entice other businesses to join them.
The 112,00sq.ft building has been bought by Leitrim County Council in an overall €9 million investment plan to redevelop the site as a business campus for the northwest.
It is a new departure for the council which describes it as a significant investment in the future of the area.
An open day at the premises will showcase what is on offer at the Carrick Business Campus, where the council says it aims to capitalise on the large pool of financial services talent in the region with innovative step-up transition spaces for expanding enterprises.
€3 million is being invested in redeveloping over 22,000sq.ft of the building into "Grade A" co-working office accommodation for companies with more than 10 employees, as well as a flexible landing space for new Foreign Direct Investment clients or businesses requiring a second base.

Chief Executive of Leitrim County Council Lar Power said the council recognised there was a need in the northwest for ready-made spaces for the next growth stage after start-up.
"Growth stage businesses often struggle to find suitable accommodation thus hampering their ability to expand and reach their full potential," he said.
"We have brought five office spaces ranging in size from 1,500 to 2,700sq.ft spaces to the market, for immediate rent, the first two of which were occupied straight away."
Those two new companies are Image Skillnet and Payac, both of which include former MBNA workers returning to their former workplace.

Margaret O'Rourke Doherty used to work in MBNA and now runs Image Skillnet which is a national network for supporting the Irish beauty and hair sector with subsidised, tailored training.
With the company about to reach nine employees, it has outgrown its start-up base in Drumshanbo and relocated to Carrick-on-Shannon.
Payac is headquartered in Dublin with an operations centre in Leitrim County Council's Hive start-up Hub. It too has outgrown its space.
The company is a managed services firm that supports credit unions offering a wide range of daily banking services, including current accounts and debit cards, and currently services 80 credit unions with a network of over 260 branches nationwide.
Mr Power is confident that the available local skill base in the northwest will lead to a cluster of similar companies moving in to the turnkey full-serviced campus.
"This high-quality building had been vastly underutilised but the developments to date, in conjunction with the plans for future development, will act as an economic development generator for Leitrim and the north-west region as a whole, both of which are strategically important to us," he said.
