A woman has died in a road traffic collision involving a car in Sligo Town.
The pedestrian, aged in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man, who was also a pedestrian, was injured in the incident and taken to Sligo University Hospital.
The driver and passenger of the car were also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí say that the collision happened at around 4pm at the junction of Castle Street and Market Street in the town.
Both Castle Street and Market Street have been closed for a technical examination with diversions in place.
An appeal for witnesses has been issued, and any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage and were travelling in the Castle St or Market St areas between 4pm and 4.15pm are asked to make it available to gardaí.
