A man in his 60s has died following a road collision in Co Mayo this morning.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 10.30am, at Creggs Road, The Quay in Ballina.
Gardaí say that no other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported.
The man's body has been removed to Mayo University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The road is closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and for any pedestrians or road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, who were in the area at the time to contact Ballina Garda Station on 096-20560, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
