An investigation is under way into an alleged assault at Sligo University Hospital yesterday morning.
The incident happened at the hospital at around 9.15am.
A man in his 40s received treatment for his injuries.
SUH has confirmed that it is aware of an incident relating to two members of staff.
In a statement, hospital authorities said the incident is being fully investigated by the hospital in line with all appropriate procedures.
The statement added added that the hospital will not be commenting further in relation to this matter.
