Three men have been arrested in Co Mayo after cannabis plants with an estimated street value of over €300,000 were seized.
As part of ongoing operations by the Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the region, gardaí searched two houses in the townland of Killasser, Swinford.
The searches were carried out yesterday evening, Saturday 5 January, at around 6pm.
Around €300,000 worth of cannabis plants at different stages of growth were seized.
Three men, aged 44, 27 and 23, were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Ballina Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Gardaí have said that investigations are continuing.
