The brother of a Mayo woman who has been missing for 18 years has issued a fresh appeal for information on her disappearance.
Sandra Collins was last seen leaving a takeaway in Killala, Co Mayo, on the night of 4 December 2000.
In the days that followed, a fleece jacket belonging to the 28-year-old was found on the local pier but her body was never recovered.
A man was charged with Ms Collins' murder but was acquitted following a trial at the Central Criminal Court in 2014.
Patrick Collins said his family needed to locate his sister's remains so that she could be laid to rest with her parents.
Speaking on RTÉ's Today with Sean O'Rourke, he said he believed people were afraid to come forward with information, but that somebody in the locality must know what happened to her.
Mr Collins said that while Sandra's siblings could not bring her back, they were eager to ensure that anybody with information would contact them.
Gardaí are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ms Collins' disappearance and anyone with information can contact them at Ballina Garda Station on 096 20560.
