An elderly man has died following a road incident in Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim this afternoon.
The 80-year-old died after the tractor he was driving struck a ditch as he drove out of a field onto a local road at Leckaun at around 1pm.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, and the man was pronounced dead a short time later.
The site has been preserved and will be examined by a garda forensic team in the morning.
The man’s body was removed to University Hospital Sligo where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
