Sligo County Council is appealing for information to help find those responsible for an illegal dump site at Lough Easkey.
Staff visited the scene today and found a pile of rubbish which included old toys and bedding, drink cans and general household waste.
An investigation is under way to try and identify those responsible, and the council is asking anyone with information to contact its environment section.
It said: "the local community and the council are adamant that littering of this scale in a popular scenic area cannot be tolerated, and environment staff will work with the public to establish sufficient evidence to prosecute offenders".
