An estimated 5,000 people took part in the annual climb up Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo today in what is known as Reek Sunday.

Archbishop of Tuam Michael Neary led the pilgrimage up the 760m high mountain this morning.

Hourly masses were also celebrated at the summit.
