A group of young singers in Co Mayo are getting ready to perform in one of the world's most prestigious venues.
The Westport Children's Choir has been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York later this month after being spotted on YouTube.
The choir began in 2011 under the direction of Eriko Hopkinson and its members are from ages six to 18.
Their repertoire spans many musical genres including classical, traditional/world music and jazz.
Ms Hopkinson is originally from Okinawa in Japan and moved to Ireland in 1995, since when she has been involved in the Arts and started the choir.
World-famous composer Cristian Grases saw the choir on YouTube and extended an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall.
The choir has been fundraising so as many of the the children as possible can avail of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
