A 19-year-old from Co Roscommon has died following an incident while on holiday in Spain.
Stephen O'Gara was holidaying in the popular resort of Lanzarote when he was involved in a quad-bike or moped collision on Friday.
The deceased was a native of Aughurine, Moyne, Ballaghaderreen.
He was on holiday with family members and had only arrived last Thursday.
An only child, Mr O'Gara is survived by his mother Maureen, who runs local catering company, 'Gairdín Bia' and an extended network of family and friends.
Parish Priest of Ballinagare, Fr Michael Donnelly, described Mr O'Gara "as a lovely, lovely lad who was very hard-working and down to earth.
"There's a complete sadness, one could say an awful sadness in the area," said Fr Donnelly who expressed his condolences to the deceased's family.
Mr O'Gara was a past pupil of St Nathy's College, Ballaghaderreen and was a trainee carpenter in Galway.
It is understood the Department of Foreign Affairs has also been providing consular assistance to his family.
