The body of a woman in her 90s has been discovered in her car, which had crashed in a deep ditch in Co Roscommon.
The woman was reported missing to gardaí yesterday after she failed to return home from an appointment.
Her car was found at 12.45pm today close to Castleplunket.
The woman's body has been removed to University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out.
Gardaí say no other vehicles were involved.
The road between Castleplunket and Ballintubber has been closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
