A group of parishioners from Knock in Co Mayo are travelling to New York to attend the re-interment of the remains of one of the witnesses to an "apparition" in the town in 1879.
John Curry was five when he and a group of others saw what the Vatican subsequently declared a miraculous apparition. It occurred on the gable wall of the church in Knock.
He was the youngest "visionary" among the group of 15 on the day in question.
Mr Curry emigrated to the US and died in 1943.
He was buried in a pauper's grave and is being re-interred in Old St Patrick's Cathedral in New York next weekend.
The Catholic Cardinal of New York, Timothy Dolan, will officiate at the ceremony in Manhattan next Saturday.
