The president of the Republic of Croatia is visiting Galway city today as part of her official State visit to Ireland.
This morning Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović attend a civic reception in her honour at City Hall.
She is also visiting the National University of Ireland Galway where she will meet President Dr Jim Browne, and some of the Croatian community at the university.
The president's visit is of particular significance as Galway, together with Rijeka in Croatia, was designated the European Capital of Culture 2020.
Her itinerary also includes a visit to the Galway 2020 Community Hub.
The Croatian delegation will be accompanied by Minister of State Seán Canney, the Ambassador of Croatia to Ireland Ivan Masina and the Ambassador of Ireland to Croatia Olive Hempenstall.
