Fianna Fáil says it will immediately establish a crisis summit on insurance costs if returned to office.

Announcing its plans to tackle the high cost of insurance the party's finance spokesperson, Michael McGrath, accused the Government of having a hands-off attitude when it comes to the matter.

He said there has been little enforcement against suspected fraudulent claims to date.

Mr McGrath said there needs to be more transparency from the insurance industry and there needs to be an end to dual pricing.
