Communications firm eir has reported higher revenues and earnings for the fourth quarter and for the year to the end of December as it continues to expand its customer base.

Eir said its revenues for 2025 rose by 2% to €1.35 billion, while its EBITDA increased by 4% to €640m - both in line with expectations.

Its fourth quarter revenues were up 5% to €392m, while EBITDA for the last three months of the year jumped by 10% to €198m.

Operating costs for the year fell by 2% to €410m, while they were flat on a quarterly basis at €104m.

Eir said it is approaching 1.5 million premises that can connect to fibre to the home (FTTH) across Ireland, up 9% on the previous year.

A total of 2.2 million premises can avail of its combined FTTH and FTTC (fibre to the cabinet) networks, or 98% of premises in Ireland, it added.

The company reported a 1% increase in fibre broadband connections to reach 894,000. These now total 95% of eir's total broadband base.

Today's results show that eir had a total of 1.581 million total mobile customers, up 5% on the previous year.

Its TV customers rose by 1% to 114,000, it added.

Oliver Loomes, eir CEO, said the company's performance last year reflected its strategy of sustained network investment and customer focus which continues to yield results in the growth of both its mobile and fibre broadband bases.

"With 1.58 million mobile customers - an increase of 72,000 year-on-year - and fibre-to-the-home available to nearly 1.5 million premises, we are consolidating our position as Ireland's leading connectivity provider," the CEO said.

"Combined with our focus on cost control this resulted in topline revenue and EBITDA growth of 2% and 4% respectively year-on-year," he added.

Oliver Loomes said the company's fibre rollout now delivers future-proof Gigabit connectivity across Ireland, with 95% of its broadband base on fibre.

"With 894,000 fibre connections, adoption continues to accelerate, driving faster, more reliable digital infrastructure for homes and businesses nationwide," he said.

"As our recent Digital Ireland report shows, this investment is helping to make Ireland one of the most digitally connected countries in Europe with massive growth in data use across both our fixed and mobile networks," he added.
