A new artificial intelligence-focused training company has launched, with backing from Enterprise Ireland and Oyster Capital.

AICertified has been created by Ian Dodson, who co-founded the Digital Marketing Institute in 2008.

It is hoping to tap into the boom in demand for AI expertise, which comes on the back of massive investments from tech companies and venture capital funds.

AICertified said it aims to become a respected training facility in the AI space, offering university-accredited courses within the European Qualifications Framework.

"The AI training market today is fragmented and fundamentally unreliable. No one has yet defined what it is to be AI certified, nor the progression route to get there," said Mr Dodson. "Our answer is simple - set a single reliable standard, provide an outcome-driven path and certify skills in a way employers and students can trust."

It will begin offering courses next month and will initially employ eight people.

As part of its launch it has secured €1m in funding from Oyster Capital, with support from Enterprise Ireland.

"We invested in AICertified because Ian and his team have done it before," said Martin Scully, CEO of Oyster Capital. "The demand for structured, credible AI training is enormous.

"We see a clear path to a market-leading AI training company emerging from Ireland - one built to guarantee outcomes for employers and graduates."
