Around 60 Legal Operations Analysts at outsourcing firm Covalen are to take strike action today.
The workers, who are represented by the Communications Workers Union (CWU), are seeking formal recognition of their roles and a salary review.
The CWU members said role recognition is essential, not only for pay but also for career progression within Covalen and the wider sector.
"These workers carry out complex legal operations work for a global tech platform," said Shane Murphy, CWU Organiser.
"Recognising the role they actually perform is fundamental to fairness, progression, and professional integrity," he added.
Covalen provides services such as content moderation and AI training for Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
The CWU has accused Covalen of refusing to engage meaningfully and said preparations are under way to ballot all members on further industrial action across a range of issues, including pay and conditions, hybrid work, redundancy protections, and union recognition.
Last month, Covalen said it had commenced consultation with some of its staff in relation to potential redundancies within its Dublin operations.
The company did not disclose the number of potentially impacted employees and declined to comment on reports that around 400 jobs are at risk.
Covalen said it has always prioritised direct and open engagement with employees.
"While we fully respect the right of employees to take industrial action, we have been proactively consulting with our teams," a spokesperson said.
"We will continue to engage with our teams and our commitment to direct and meaningful dialogue remains unchanged," the company said.
The striking workers will stage a picket outside the company's Sandyford offices from 12:30pm to 7:30pm.
The CWU said the action will be supported by strike-support rallies open to the wider Covalen workforce and the public.
