John and Patrick Collison, co-founders of payments company Stripe, have received the 2025 Impact Ireland Award.
The brothers were presented with the prize by the Taoiseach Micheál Martin and The Edge of U2 at a gala dinner in Dublin.
The organisers said they received the honour in recognition of their contribution to global innovation, entrepreneurship, and Ireland's leadership in technology and responsible business.
The award coincided with Stripe's announcement of its new European Headquarters in Dublin.
The presentation was part of the annual Venturewave Capital Impact Ireland Convention which took place this week in Dublin, hosted by the Global Advisory Council of Venturewave Capital and supported by Bank of America.
The convention brought together investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and innovators from around the world to strengthen Ireland’s position as a global hub for impact investing.
Venturewave invests both in Irish-founded businesses and in international ventures that expand to and from Ireland to accelerate their growth, ensuring that economic value creation goes hand in hand with societal benefit.
"The Collisons embody the spirit of Irish innovation - ambitious, responsible, and global," said Alan Foy, Executive Chairman of Venturewave Capital.
Kieran McLoughlin, co-founder and Managing Partner of Venturewave Capital, added: "With over $1.5 trillion in assets under management Impact Investing is on a march."
Paul Donofrio, Vice Chair of Bank of America said that Ireland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem continues to inspire and lead on the global stage.
