Amid the growing global trend of employers calling employees back to the office for more in-person workdays, remote-only roles have increased significantly across Ireland, new research from Accenture shows.

The new research reveals a significant shift in Ireland's technology sector, with remote-only roles going up by 33.1% in the last six months.

In Dublin, they have increased by 39.2%.

Today's report shows there has been a significant 27% increase in demand for cloud and cybersecurity professionals, with remote only cloud roles rising by 31.3%.

Researchers from Accenture also noted that Galway and Waterford are showing increasing demand in tech professionals, with 38.2% and 40.3% of growth in tech roles on offer, respectively.

This is "signalling a more balanced spread of tech opportunities nationwide," said Wendy Walsh, the Talent lead for Accenture in Ireland.

Demand for AI professionals has increased by 3% nationally over the last six months.

Meanwhile, the demand for professionals with skills in Data Analytics has decreased by 8.6% over the same time.
