Jobs platform Indeed has unveiled a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool that it has described as the first step toward delivering a virtual talent agent for job seekers, and a talent scout for employers.

The new tool is called 'Pathfinder' and Indeed plans to release it in 2025.

After a job seekers uploads their CV and relevant skills, qualifications and preferences, Pathfinder identifies their key skills groups based on their experience, as well as assessing the level of seniority or expertise for each area.

It can generate personalised career paths, share recommendations about job opportunities, and highlight skills gaps and ways to close them.

Pathfinder was showcased today at Indeed's 'FutureWorks' Dublin event for HR and talent leaders.

"This is about complementing human judgement, not replacing it. Pathfinder essentially combines the power of Indeed's vast troves of data on real-time global hiring trends and AI, and makes it accessible to everyone," said Indeed’s EMEA VP for Customer Success and Sales, Derek Diviney.

"By leveraging AI and machine learning, Pathfinder can transform the traditional job search - at its core, by making it more efficient and effective, both for job seekers and employers," Mr Diviney said.
