IBM has appointed Nathan Cullen as Country General Manager and Technology Leader, IBM Ireland.
Mr Cullen succeeds Deborah Threadgold, who has been promoted to a new role as Vice President of Cross-Brand Technology Sales, IBM UK & Ireland.
IBM has had a presence in Ireland for more than 65 years and the country continues to be among the company's strategic locations globally.
Earlier this year, IBM, together with Red Hat, announced the creation of 800 jobs across Dublin, Cork and Waterford by 2027, focused on roles in research and development, digital sales and consulting.
As Country General Manager for IBM Ireland, Mr Cullen is responsible for setting the strategic direction, driving operational excellence and fostering the growth and development of the tech company's business and people in the country.
He most recently served as Ecosystem Leader for IBM Ireland, where he was responsible for growing technology sales revenue through channel partnerships.
"I am greatly honoured and excited by the opportunity to represent IBM in Ireland as Country General Manager. I look forward to building on Deborah's success in growing the IBM brand and business in the Irish market, working collaboratively with our clients, partners and the IBM teams across our Irish operations," Mr Cullen said.
Deborah Threadgold will become Chairperson of IBM Ireland for the coming months during a transition period.
Under Deborah’s stewardship, IBM announced the largest investment in Ireland for a generation. The company said her work to build a strong sense of community and inclusion includes the successful delivery of the P-TECH programme in Dublin and she continues to inspire and champion female leadership in STEM.
