Google has revealed that among the most popular searches of the year in Ireland were 'What is a barter account', the Rugby World Cup and Oppenheimer.
The annual 'Google Year in Search Results' shows the Rugby World Cup was in top spot when it comes to sports searches, followed by the Women's Football World Cup.
Oppenheimer topped the most searched movies list with Barbie in second place and Banshees of Inisherin in third.
The Last of Us was the most searched TV programme of the year and other shows that got people searching were Welcome to Wrexham, the White Lotus and Kin.
Irish television also featured on the Most Searched People list with Ryan Tubridy in fourth position and Patrick Kielty in seventh place.
The most Googled people of the year were Russell Brand, Huw Edwards and Phillip Schofield.
In the 'What is' category of searches, 'What is Botulism' was in first place followed by 'What is a barter account'.
ChatGPT topped the list of tech searches, Viking toast was the most Googled recipe and 'how to claim rent tax credit' was the most searched question of the year in Ireland.
Coldplay, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift were the most Googled music artists of 2023.
In a year where many Irish music stars passed away, Sinéad O'Connor topped the 'Losses' search category with Shane MacGowan and Christy Dignam also featuring among the top searches.
