Irish founded managed cloud and security services providers Ekco has announced a deal to buy Waterford-based Radius Technologies.
Radius Technologies specialises in end-to-end IT services for small to medium-sized businesses.
This is Ekco's third acquisition of companies specialising in servicing the IT needs for organisations with up to 250 employees in the last 18 months. Last year it completed the acquisitions of Unity, IT Force and Ortus.
This is a market with growing demands in the IT service space, with up to 67% of Irish SMBs expected to increase their IT budgets in 2024.
Today's deal brings the total number of staff at Ekco to more than 650, of which over 400 are based in Ireland.
Ekco has also made a series of recent acquisitions in Ireland in the cyber security space to complement its cloud strategy, buying Ward Solutions in 2021 and Kontex and Caveo Systems in 2022.
Steve MacNicholas, CEO Ireland at Ekco, said the company sees a great fit between both firms' people, services and customer base and the existing operations it has in the Irish market.
