Irish online therapy and counselling platform, Fettle.ie, has raised €500,000 in new funding.

The fundraising was led by Dublin based Mashup Group, supported by Maltese based venture capital firm, GrowthBox Ventures.

The company says it also intends to raise a further €1m at the start of next year to help drive its international expansion.

The platform is planning to expand into the UK and English speaking markets during the last three months of this year.

It is also expanding its offering of tech-enabled solutions to help with wellbeing in the workplace.

The developments come as the business bolsters its management team.

23 year old technology entrepreneur, Jordan Casey, has taken over as Chief Executive Officer.

He started his first business in 2009 and came to public attention in 2012 when he became the youngest iOS app developer in Europe.

While John O'Connor, the co-founder and CEO of waster collection technology platform, Kollect.ie, has been appointed Chairman.

Jack Starling has also joined the organisation as Executive Director.
