Sue Duke has been named as the new Country Manager of LinkedIn Ireland and will take up her new role on July 1.
Ms Duke has been appointed after Sharon McCooey's decision to retire from the business at the end of June.
She is currently LinkedIn's Head of Global Public Policy and Economic Graph Team and her role includes leading the company's relationships with governments and policy makers around the world such as the IMF, OECD and World Economic Forum.
From the company's EMEA and LATAM headquarters in Dublin, she will combine her existing responsibilities with her new role leading LinkedIn’s Irish operations.
LinkedIn employs over 2,000 people in Ireland and has over two million members here, who use the platform to find jobs, learn skills, hire teams, make deals and start businesses.
Before joining LinkedIn in 2014, Sue Duke was Head of Public Policy at Google's EMEA headquarters in Dublin.
Before joining the private sector, she was Special Adviser to the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, working across diverse policy themes from internet infrastructure to renewable energy.
"It is an incredible time to be taking on this position given all the changes happening across the world of work, and it will be fascinating to see what Ireland will look like in the years ahead as new technologies like AI, and trends like the shift to skills-based hiring become part of our everyday working lives," Sue Duke said.
"I'm deeply passionate about carrying on the work LinkedIn is doing to ensure that everyone has access to the same opportunities in the workplace regardless of their background or where they were born," she added.
