Bank of Ireland has upgraded its forecasts for net interest income for 2022 again due to the "evolving interest rate environment".

The bank, the country's largest bank by assets, said its net interest income for the year is now set to increase by about 10% on 2021.

This compares to its previous guidance of an increase of about 6-7%.

In a brief statement, Bank of Ireland said this guidance incorporates net interest income from Targeted longer-term refinancing operations (TLTRO) participation in 2022 of about €30m compared to about €62m in 2021.

Bank of Ireland will publish its annual results for 2022 on March 7.

Shares in the bank moved higher in Dublin trade today.
