South Dublin County Council has opened a tender process for the naming rights of Tallaght Stadium.

The venue is home to Shamrock Rovers and the women's national soccer team, as well as the men’s under-21 team.

It is currently undergoing an expansion and upgrade as part of an €11.5m investment by the council, which will bring its match-day capacity above 10,000.

There are also plans to use the stadium as a concert and event venue, with a potential capacity of 20,000.

The council said the successful tender will gain "substantial branding opportunities, extensive editorial mentions, TV broadcast and digital media exposure, ticketing and venue rental opportunities".

The tendering process is being conducted in partnership with the council, Tallaght Stadium and Core Sponsorship.

It is the latest stadium here to seek a name sponsor, with FBD Holdings securing the sponsorship rights at Semple Stadium at the start of the year.
